When someone we love asks us to do something, we are quick
to respond. This principle applies to our lives with God, yet, how often we
hear but we do not obey. Jesus was quite clear, “If you love me, keep my
commandments” (John 14:15). Oh, how I love you, Jesus, we say. Yet our lives do
not bear witness to our love. We are not willfully disobedient. We love out of
our feelings but not out of our wills. When our wills are bent toward the One
we love, we will find that we will quickly obey the commands we hear. – Ron
