Ever feel unlovable? Ever feel that only judgment was your
end? Lots of people think they are beyond the love of God. If you really knew
me, you wouldn’t love me. Why would God! Hezekiah, Israel’s king in Isaiah’s
day, knew differently as he wrote,
“In your love you kept me
from the pit of destruction;
you
have put all my sins behind your back.” Isaiah 38:17
Hezekiah knew this truth: God knows me perfectly and God
loves me perfectly. Hezekiah knew the truth of what St. Paul wrote centuries
later: “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love”
