Have you ever felt that your life was encircled by darkness?
The human race is stuck in darkness. Oh, we do everything to turn on a light in
our lives: we buy the latest telephones, we eat the latest diet, we chase the
latest technological advance and follow with wide-eyed excitement the latest
adventures of idols such as the Kardashians.
The ancient prophet is aware of the human quest for a light
in their darkness. Here is the good news:
“The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light; on
those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned” (Isaiah 9:2)
Where does this light come from? This light is a gift. It is
not generated by human action. It comes from beyond. For followers of Jesus,
