We are a stubborn lot, we humans. God speaks to us and give
us clear directions as God did to Ahaz: “Ask me for a sign”. Like Ahaz, we
think we know better than God so we get self-righteous and say, “Who am I to
test God?” The prophetic response is to the point:
“Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the
patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also?” (Isaiah 7:13).
Always be careful if you are tempted to question the ways of
God. There is a reason God is giving you a specific direction. Do not try God’s
