Are you living a useful life?
We live in a world that judges by “usefulness”, that is, is
what we are doing useful for the greater good of our society? The followers of
Jesus know that is not what they do that determines their usefulness for God.
If we base our judgment on our perception of usefulness we have not given
ourselves to serve the Ruler of the reign. We are not serving the Ruler; we are
serving our idea of what we should be doing for the Ruler. Do not worry if you
are useful, remember “you are not your own” (I Corinthians 6:19). You are His.
