God is in the call
business: God is always calling out to people. Unfortunately too many of us
have already made up our mind what God would call us for – we expect to
something sensational for God. If God is the caller, we have no choice in the
content of the call. We cannot suddenly say, “Oh, God, that is not what I had
in mind for today.” Our model for hearing the call of God is Jesus who took on
the form of a servant, humbling himself to serve God and us. – Ron Friesen
