“In the beginning, God…” On the first day of a new year it
is good to remember that before there was time, God was there. God is here
today. God will be here tomorrow. The problem is not the reality of God’s
presence; the problem is that we often live as if God were not present at all.
The challenge for this year will be to “practice the presence” of God everyday.
How do we do this? We do this by practicing gratitude. Where do the good things
in our lives come from? They come from our Heavenly Father. Each day as you
prepare to go to bed, stop and write down five things that you are thankful for.

What a great start to 2013, Ron. Gratitude is the key for me. It changes everything!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary. I have just loaded up a thought for every day for January. Thank you for reading and your support. Ron
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... my comment didn't register. For me the five are family, good friends, peace, the moon and the stars, and gardens. Love would be number one, but that's incorporated into all the others. Happy New Year, Ron.
ReplyDeleteMs. Moon, Your comment is her. :) Thank you for sharing your five. I hope to remember to practice this spiritual discipline every day. Ron
