Continuous transformation
Many followers of Jesus believe
that their experience of salvation is a “one-time” experience. This refusal to
see the life of discipleship as continuous transformation leads to spiritual
stagnation and eventually, spiritual death. In our pride we declare our
self-will and independence, thereby, dethroning the rightful resident of our
will’s throne: the sovereign God. There are whole areas of our lives that have
not yet been brought into submission. As we mature in our faith we acknowledge
this truth: to follow Jesus is to be in continuous transformation. – Ron Friesen
Great picture as life is not a straight line! Those who profess to have transformed their life are sinning as it was God who gave us not our own doing! That the wheel is in our hand are we prepared daily to avoid the pitfalls and distractions of humanity? Now of course we can't keep our eyes always on God but like driving practice makes perfect!
ReplyDeleteDon,
DeleteGood words - I am dealing with one crisis and now may be facing a even larger one.
I am a sinner - I just left Hooters and bought a six pack. But, I try and do what is right...

Don, Thank you for the metaphor about keeping our eyes on God and we will stay on the road to new life. I trust your day will be filled with guidance from above.

Sarge, Thanks for coming buy. Your honesty is the kind of honesty. I pray that God will give you strength and wisdom to get through.
