Let Justice Roll!

Let justice roll!! This cry from the human breast is very old. When will justice come? Where will it come from? Who will bring it? Each generation seeks a renewal of justice. In the days of Isaiah, as his people were languishing in the death grip of the oppressing Assyrian army, Isaiah said,

“The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert, his righteousness live in the fertile field. The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.” (Isaiah 32:16-17)

This justice comes from the Spirit of the Living God moving across the face of the land (vs. 15). It comes in God’s time; it is not determined by human orchestration. Justice is a work of humility of those seeking it; justice is a work of grace by God who is giving it. – Ron Friesen
