Why do you ask God for anything

What is the purpose of our asking God for anything? Why do we pray? Some will say, “I pray to get something.” Do you only talk to your best friend so you can get something? “Of course, not!” you reply. When we are praying, we are talking to God about ourselves, our lives, the lives of those around us, about the state of the world and so on. We are also listening to God. Prayer, like any communication, is a two-way street. Why do we ask God for anything? So that we can get to know God! – Ron Friesen
