The words of Jesus to the women coming to anoint the body of
Jesus must ring in our ears on a daily basis: “Who are you looking for?” (John
18:7). Our eyes are made for looking, watching, discerning. Our spiritual
hunger is declared by our constant search to satisfy our sight. Daily our eyes
are drawn to many things that say, “I can satisfy the deepest needs to your
soul.” Unless we train our eyes to search for true spiritual reality, we will
let ourselves be satisfied by passing pleasures which, while meeting temporary
needs, will disappear as quickly as they came. Who are you looking for? – Ron
