Like a heavy old
winter coat
Our brokenness
drapes our shoulders
“Come, lift this
load!”
Fellow travelers
on this human journey
Seem little
help, brokenness drapes them.
“Come, lift this
load.”
Distraction of
the latest TV show
The joy of some
good news comes,
Yet, we cry,
“Come, lift this load.”
Guilt soaks
brokenness’s coat;
Shame drips from
brokenness’ cover.
Yet, we cry,
“Come, lift this load.”
A Broken One
joins our sojourn
Bearing marks of
brokenness.
“I was broken
for you.”
