How do I hear your voice, God?
Do I hear it as still small voice?
Or
Do I hear it as a thunder clap?
Or
Do I hear it in a whipperwill's call?
Or
Do I hear it in a child's cry"
Or
Do I hear in the cry of a woman being raped?
Or
Do I hear in the wailing of a woman whose son was cut down in gang violence?
Or
Do I hear it in the screams of a woman who pleads for her husband to stop beating her?
Or
Do I hear it in the cries of a father who searches a garbage dump for scraps of food for his family?
I often hear your voice, God
I confess I often ignore your voice.
Help me to hear better, O God

God's voice is so clear, in the good and the bad. The joy in all situations is that He is. My heart is with the many.
ReplyDeleteWP, Thank you for visiting. Yes, God's voice is all around us - do we have ears to hear?

Good morning, my friend. Thank you for sharing your poetry. Very powerful and compelling, as always.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see, I'm back at Blogspot with a new moniker. I would be honored if you would add me to your blog roll. I'll leave it to you to decide which blog to add. Pizza Moon is my favorite right now.
Come check it out. The doors of my little cottage are always open. ;-)
Ms, Moon, Thank you for the visit. I will definitely come by for a visit to your blog. Thank you for your kind words.
